checks sent to wrong address

Some checks have been sent to the wrong address and seem to have given the receiver
the idea that cashing them would be a good idea.

Temptation can be the ruin of many a person. I bet he wouldn't have done it if he hadn't got the checks.

That's true, but would he have done other things?
