Travelers Cheque Card from american express

Amex is promoting it's " Travelers Cheque Card " now. This could be an indication that it believes travelers checks are gradually becoming less used, so provide it's own alternative.

I guess american express would be best placed to know the statistics on travelers check usage. The visa travel money card has been around for quite a time and worked fine when I used it as a backup card.
