There was a time when ordering checks was something best left to the bank or savings and loan. They knew how to talk to printers, they knew what they needed and all the regulations around banking...

But hey, things have changed. Nowadays printers are friendly, approachable and want your custom. Banking laws are easy to follow, it turns out, and any check reorder companies worth their salt will have all that sorted out.

So how do you go about taking over from your bank? It's as easy as finding your own custom check printer - suppliers that do this for a living. There are plenty of sources for buying checks online and once you've three or four to choose from it's no different from any other purchasing decision.

But there's another nagging question - why would you want to take over from your bank? Good question - you can do it cheaper, but maybe the saving's not great. You can get your order returned more quickly via mail order checks, but maybe you plan ahead and never run out of checks.

The biggest plus point for ordering checks yourself is that you get freedom of choice. Maybe your bank has said 'sorry, but you can't order top stub checks here...' Well take you business elsewhere - the consumer is king.
